Shopping with Daddy

I had to work again today, so you and daddy did your usual Saturday thing. You went shopping a little, then went to Chick-fil-A to play. Daddy needs some new shorts, so he took you to Academy Sports with him. He said he was in the dressing room standing in his underwear and you started to climb out under the door. He didn't know what to do, so he stepped on you. He said that was the only way he could hold you under the door. He quickly got his pants on and you took off. He said he was doing his pants up on the way out of the dressing room chasing you. To calm you down he tried to give you a juice cup which you proceded to pull the top of off, leaving both of you covered in apple juice. Lukily there was a change of clothes for you in the car. So daddy changed your clothes in the back of the car, while it was raining. He said you were both mad at each other for a little while.

It was all better because tonight you got to run around in the mud puddles in our yard. You ran around and had the best time.

A day at granny's

We didn't have anything to do today, so we decided to go to granny's and papa's. We stopped at the church and helped granny clean the church and then went to their house. As soon as you saw papa you started yelling "papoo". You walked around with him outside, went with him to his shop, and then we went in. Later, we went back out to his shop and you stood outside saying "papoo" a hundred times. It was so cute! We had a really good day and I think you enjoyed yourself.

Tonight, we decided to go to target. You love target's popcorn, so we got you some. On the way home you turned it over in your carseat and started eating eat. You were in hog heaven!

Enough Sleep Helps

You are a different child when you get enough sleep. You slept great last night and this morning you woke up in a great mood. Daddy could hear you talking this morning and you never cried. He said you were going through and reciting out loud all the words you know how to say. You were perfect all morning. I really didn't want to take you to Mother's Morning Out, but I had to work. This afternoon you took a good nap and you were a pleasure to be with this afternoon. I don't know how to make you sleep enough every day, but you are so much better when you do!

New Words

You have really started talking lately. You have your usual words like mama and dada, but you have added some. You can say diaper and apple and banana. Apple comes out "bapple" and banana is "nana". The last couple of days you've been saying more, which sounds like "mwou" and cheese which is simply "eeze". You've been saying thank you, and now you're saying elmo which comes out "melmo".

We try to say the words correctly to you so you will eventually say them correctly, but sometimes it's so stinking cute we mock you. Everyday you surprise us with a new word.

Much Better Day Today

We had a much better day today. We pretty much stayed around the house and had a good time. You helped me with some housework, or got in my way depending on how you look at it. But we had fun!

We only had one meltdown today. You have been telling us when you need a diaper change which is a sign that you're getting ready to potty train. So we've been getting you to sit on your potty. You liked it at first, but lately you've gotten a little shy about it. Well today, I brought the potty into the living room and took your diaper off. You would sit on it and then stand in the corner. I kept thinking you were going to tee-tee in the corner but you didn't. So I thought you might would like to try a pull up. Well, boy was a wrong. You got so upset! You would not let me get anywhere near you with the pull up. I thought maybe you just liked the freedom of walking around without a diaper on, but when I tried to put a diaper on you, you let me. I'm going to get you a new potty tomorrow, hopefully you will like it a little better.

A day at home

I was not feeling well today, so we decided to stay home from church. I think we all needed a break. Daddy went outside to cut the grass and we went with him. You walked right behind him with your little plastic lawn mower. It was really cute!

Later, daddy had to go somewhere, so we went outside by ourselves. We just put up a fence between our yard and our neighbors yard, but it isn't all the way to the road. And you kept wanting to go in their yard. I finally had to bring you inside.

All day you were really whiny and cantankerous. You would throw yourself down and pitch the biggest fits. Needless to say, my headache got worse. I hope we have a better day tomorrow!

Book Sale

We went to the Friend's of the Library book sale today. We were there about an hour and a half and you did pretty well. The first hour you stayed in your stroller and looked around. Toward the end, you started acting up a little. We got some good books that we read tonight before bed.

Daddy's Back

Daddy came back today. I was at work when he got home. He said he walked in and you were a little shy. And he said, "give me a big hug", and you ran to him so hard and gave him the biggest hug. We went to Chickfila to play and you wouldn't let daddy leave your sight. Everytime he would walk off you would yell for him.

We went to Chick-fil-a afterward and daddy walked off to get something. You starting crying and yelling "dada" so loud. You kept yelling it over and over and he said he heard it all across the store. I think you were a little happy to see him!

Throwing up is no fun

Daddy is still out of town and I went to work today, so granny kept you. You have been pulling at your ear the last couple of days, but she said you seemed fine today. We decided we would go to chick-fil-a tonight so you could play, but we didn't make it all the way there. You were a little cranky when I got home and seemed awfully tired. On the way there, you threw up all over yourself. Three Times! It was everywhere, and it stunk SOOOO bad! We turned around and came home. I took your clothes off of you and rocked you for a few minutes because you were so upset. Then you fell asleep. Brayden, you never fall asleep that easily. You were obviously very tired. I only let you sleep about 20 minutes, and when you got up you were in a great mood. You even ate a pretty good dinner. I was a little worried you wouldn't want to go to sleep at bedtime, but you went right to sleep. I had thought about taking you to the doctor tomorrow, but you seemed like you were feeling pretty well tonight. I'll see how you seem tomorrow morning.

Where's Daddy?

Daddy had to leave this morning and go to a training in Atlanta for a few days. He left before you got up. When I went to get you this morning, you said "mama" then "dada". Then you grabbed your diaper and said "dipa". I felt you and you were soaked. You were telling me you needed it changed. You have done this a few other times before. I changed you and we went and laid down in my bed while you drank some milk. When you got up you yelled "dada" really loud. Then you got off the bed and ran around the house yelling "dada". I called daddy and told him and it broke his heart.

Granny came up here to stay with us while daddy is gone. We went outside and played tonight and you made her get in your playhouse. Then you wouldn't let her out. We went and got ice cream of course and played a little more.

Back Home

We went and met nana and granddad half way this afternoon to get you. They said that you cried when they were leaving their house. She said you saw your bags by the car and cried wanting to go back in. You were happy to see us though! You started smiling and gave us both the biggest hugs. When you got home you ran around like a mad man for a while. You chased Missie around in your tunnel and screamed a lot. I think you were happy to be home!

Time at Nana's

I took you to Nana's on Thursday. We left right after Mother's morning out and you slept about an hour. We stopped by Granny Ray's and you played in her backyard some. When we got to Nana's I had a little shopping to do, so you and Nana played at the park. You were so ready for bed that night, but you wouldn't go to sleep in the pack and play, so Nana went to bed with you at 9:00. I don't think she minded!

The next morning, I got up and left. I always have a hard time leaving you somewhere. Daddy and I enjoy our free time when you are away, but it is so hard knowing you will not be here. We have gotten a lot done around the house but it's just not the same without you. It sounds like you are having fun at Nana's. Granddad said you have gone up and down the steps in their house a million times! Last night when I called you were feeding your hamburger to Roscoe.

I think you have a good time there, but I would like to think you miss us a little!

Most Embarrassing

We decided to go out to eat tonight. We went to the Whistle Stop Cafe right down the road from our house. We were a little hesitant, because it's not exactly kid friendly. It is an open restaurant with very little seating. The ceilings are really high and there is no carpet or anything to absorb noise. There is no music playing and every little sound just bounces off the walls and echoes. Well, you were in rare form. At first you were really good, so daddy decided he would just let you sit in his lap while we waited for our food. Well, when we tried to put you in your high chair you went crazy. You started crying and screaming and it just echoed! Luckily, there were only a few other people in there. We finally got you in the high chair, but you wouldn't eat. You threw your food down, and the silverware hit the floor with a very loud ting. You've started screaming in this horribly high pitch scream and you kept doing that. It was so loud!

Needless to say, I could have crawled under the table. I was so embarrassed. It is probably the first time I can remember being that embarrassed. I finally got up and walked around with you while daddy finished eating. You were so cute though. You were talking to people just like you hadn't made their entire meal miserable. We will not be taking you anywhere except Chick-fil-a and Subway from now on.

Growing up so fast

I took you to Mother's Morning Out this morning. I was standing there talking to Mrs. Maria and you acted like you may get a little clingy. She held her arms out and said "let's go to the window", and you held your arms up for her to pick you up. She picked you up and just held you while we kept talking. You didn't care at all that I was going to leave you. It makes me feel so good when you don't get upset when I leave. When I picked you up, she said you learned how to say Kenzie today, which is short for Mackenzie, a girl in your class. She said you kept patting Mackenzie's head, and saying Kenzie over and over. As soon as we walked out the door, you said "Eat", and you said it the whole way to Subway. I guess you were a little hungry.

After daddy got home today, he took you outside. The two little boys, Gabe and Luke, who stay with their grandmother a few houses down were outside. You chased them, and played with them. They would throw the ball and you would pick it up and throw it. You are really starting to interact with other kids. They are 4 and 6 and they played really well with you. You were having the best time, but we had to go in and eat. It is so much fun watching you grow up!

A good day

You were in the best mood this morning. You slept until 7:15 and you were all smiles when you got up. We had to go do a little shopping. I spent $70 and every penny of it was on you! I bought you some bubbles and when we got home we played with them. You chased them forever, but kept wanting to try to do it yourself. You could not do it, but you kept trying.

Later we were sitting in the living room playing and you kept pooting. I would laugh at you then you would cover your mouth and laugh. You did it about 5 times before I figured out you were trying to do it because I was laughing at you. Probably not the best thing to be teaching you!

Weekend Fun

This weekend has been great! I had to work yesterday, so you spent the day with Daddy. He took you to do a little shopping, then to chick-fil-a to eat lunch and play. After your nap, I came home from work and we just stayed around the house. Daddy cut the grass and you helped him with your lawn mower. Then he took you on a bike ride. You haven't been in months, but you really enjoyed it. Six months ago, you really didn't like it, but you loved it this time. When you were in the bicycle seat though, you could really tell how much you have grown. Your helmet fit better and you could sit up in the seat without sliding down. Daddy said everytime he would hit a bump you would laugh.
Here are pictures of you at 10 months on the back of daddy's bike and now at 18 months. You are growing up so fast!

We went to church today. You cried a little when we first dropped you off at the nursery, but you stopped quickly. You were a little tired this morning. This afternoon, daddy took you on another bike ride. He has gained a little weight, so he said he is having trouble riding you as far now. Maybe you can help him drop a few pounds by riding with him more often! You were not on daddy's good side tonight because you kept climbing into the kitchen chairs. He couldn't get you to stop, and I just stood back and let him handle it. But as I'm typing this post, he is in your room trying to rock you to sleep, so I think he's okay now!

Afternoon in the Park

It was a really cold day again today. We had to stay in the house all morning, but after your nap this afternoon we went to the park. You had a great time playing and watching all the other kids. After daddy got off work, we came home and ate dinner. We played outside a little, then went to get ice cream at McDonalds. We usually get it and eat it in the car, you always eat the bottom out of the cone. It makes such a mess, but you love it!

A Day with Granny

Today was my work day, so granny came to keep you. We went and stood at the window to watch daddy leave and granny started coming down the road. As soon as you saw her car, you said "Papoo". I think you call granny, papa as well. You went to the door and tried to let her in, but you haven't figured out how to turn the doorknob yet.

It was only 37 degrees this afternoon, so you had to stay inside most of the day. So, when daddy and I got home, we took you to Chick-fil-A to eat and play in the indoor playground. Daddy had to go down the slide with you because you won't slide by yourself. You kept turning on your side and sliding on your stomach. As usual, you had a great time!

Proud Parents

Today was a mother's morning out day. You have gotten to where you do not cry or anything when I drop you off. You act like you really enjoy it. This morning daddy picked up his keys and asked you if you wanted to go outside with him, and you grabbed your bookbag and walked to the door. It was so cute because you seemed so excited to go.

When daddy and I picked you up this afternoon, one of your teachers, Mrs. Anita, stopped us as soon as we walked in. She told us she wanted to thank us and give us a hug. We asked her why and she said for being such good parents. We looked at her very confused and she said that it was obvious we were good parents because of what a good kid you were. She said you help them pick up the toys when they ask, and you will do anything they want you to do. She said you do not cry or whine and you never misbehave. Today you did try to run Mackenzie over with a riding toy, but when Mrs. Anita clapped her hands and told you know, you stuck your bottom lip out and ran to Mrs. Maria crying. They knew you did not do it on purpose.

We were so proud of you today!

Outing with grandparents

This morning your grandparents, daddy's mama and daddy, took you on an outing. You went out to eat breakfast with them and went to the eye center where grammy used to work. She said you showed off and showed everyone how cute you were. You would do your usual thing and squench up your eyes when they said you were cute. You came home as ill as a hornet, but I think you were just hungry. You ate a huge lunch and then you seemed okay!

Church and Granny's

Daddy wanted to play golf today, so we decided to go to church with granny and papa. As soon as you walked into church you started saying "papoo", which is what you call papa. We sat behind papa and granny and you kept reaching over the pew and touching them. You couldn't sit through church, so we went to granny's and waited for them. You wanted to go in and out of her utility room. You would go in and shut the door and say "bye-bye".

All afternoon, you wanted "papoo's" attention. He was in the living room sleeping and you were standing in the kitchen yelling "papoo" over and over. He finally woke up and told you to come to him and you ran to him. He took you outside and walked you around, but granny couldn't stand the attention he was getting, so she had to go out there as well. You stayed outside most of the day.

Pictures

We went to take your pictures yesterday. Needless to say, you did not cooperate! Your shirt wouldn't stay tucked in, you had a bruise on your forehead, and you would not sit still. You also kept sticking your tongue out for all of the pictures. Afterward we went to Firehouse Subs. You did not eat much, but you showed off for a table of older ladies. You told them "hey" 50 times! They thought you were as cute as you did!
