Proud Daddy

Brayden had "smoothies with dad" day at school. Ian took the day off because he had a couple of dr appointments too. He took Brayden to school that morning and stayed with him for about an hour. He was so proud of Brayden. He said he was one of the best behaved kids there! Then he took him to his dentist appointment. Ian said Brayden sat there the whole time and looked at books and hardly said a word. Afterward he took him to downtown Acworth to play on a caboose they have and got him an ice cream. It's times like these that make you think you are doing something right!

No more shoulder rides

Ian has always put the boys on his shoulders and walked around with them. Of course, being the over protective mom, would run behind him telling him to hold onto their legs... and he would blow me off.

Well, last night we went to Target. Ian had Brayden on his shoulders and they were looking at Thomas trains. Ian knocked a train off and threw Brayden off his shoulders. Brayden landed on the concrete floor with the side of his head. It made the loudest Thud I have ever heard. I screamed and panicked! At first Brayden just laid there screaming and Ian grabbed him. He was crying pretty hard, but seemed okay. He looked at Ian and said "Why did you drop me"? Ian felt terrible (which I think he should have). We watched him until he went to bed and checked on him through the night and he seemed okay.

I have no idea how he didn't crack his skull of something!

Milk with Mommy

Brayden spent the night at Nana's and Dade's Saturday night. They had to get up pretty early on Sunday to have him home. Mama said that she got him up and got him a sippy cup full of milk and sat him on the couch. He looked at her and said "I don't want to drink it yet because me and mommy sit on the couch and drink it in the mornings. I want to wait until I get home to drink it with mommy."

When Ian gets up in the mornings, he puts Asher and Brayden cups of milk in my room so that when they get up, they will have it there. On mornings that Brayden doesn't have school, we lay in the bed and they drink their milk. When he does have school, I'm already up so we sit on the couch and watch Fireman Sam and drink it. It makes me feel so good that I have the opportunity to stay home with them and take the time to do things like this! It makes it all seem worth it!

Asher's first word

Asher has not really been talking. It kind of has me a little worried. He does have one word down and it is Scat. Anytime someone sneezes we will say "Scat"! Well, now he says it. It is so cute!

Listening Ears

Brayden is in the ladybug class at school. He gets a lady bug stamp on each hand every day. Yesterday he was showing them to me and said that another little boy only got one stamp. When I asked him why he said it was because he didn't follow "drections". Later that night he was telling Ian and Ian asked him what that little boy did wrong and he grabbed both of his ear lobes and said he didn't put on his listening ears. It's so much fun to hear him talk about things he learns at school!

Asher's a Firetruck!

If Asher hears a noise, he tries to mimic it. Brayden is obsessed with firetrucks, so we have about 10 around the house. Asher will press the button to hear the noise and then do this high pitched squeel that kind of sounds like it. It is kind of obnoxious, but so funny!

I'm coming Asher!

After I picked Brayden up from school today, I took them to McDonald's to play. There is a little play are at the bottom of the playground for little kids, and you can climb up the top and slide down for the bigger kids. I put Asher in the smaller part and Brayden was going back and forth between the two. Whenever he would leave Asher to go to the top, Asher would yell so loud. He wasn't upset, just yelling. Brayden was all the way at the top and he yelled, "I'm coming Asher"! Then he looked at me and said, "He wants me to come play with him". Then he came down and played with him. They repeated this several times. This gives me hope that one day they will get along and be great friends!
