Peeing in pants at church
Since you have been potty training, you will not poop in the potty. You wait until you have a diaper on or you cry for one until I put one on you. This morning we were getting ready for church and you have to poop. You wouldn't do it in the potty, so we knew that you would probably do it in your diaper at church. Between Sunday School and Church one of the ladies in the nursery came to us and asked us if we had a spare pair of pants for you. She said that you had a massive poop and then tee-teed and it leaked out your pants. She said your pants were soaked. I was going to go get you and take you home, but they said no that you could stay in your diaper and shirt during church. I obviously wasn't going to let you do that, so I sent daddy out to the car and you had an extra pair of pants. You had to wear a button up dress shirt with black sweat pants the rest of the time!

It's been a while!
It has been a while since I have posted. You are talking more and more everyday! You are putting whole sentences together now and it is so cute. You started 2-K and seem to really enjoy it. You went on your first field trip to Stevie B-s pizza. This morning daddy took you to school and you pointed at the school bus and said " I ride school bus". Daddy said yeah you did and you said " I eat pizza". It is amazing the memory you have. That was months ago. We are still working on potty training. You HATE wearing underwear and fuss wanting a diaper instead, but you actually do pretty well with the underwear.
We also had our first emergency room for stitches. Granny and papa had come up here to eat dinner with us and they had just left. You and daddy were playing dodge ball in the living room. He hit you with the ball and you lost your balance and fell right into the tv stand. You only cried a few minutes, but I knew you needed stitches. You were such a big boy! You cried some while they were cleaning it up, but you were really good. They were able to glue it because it was such a straight cut and it has healed pretty nicely. I hope you're not going to have a scar. There will be no more dodge ball in the living room!
I am going to try to update this more often because you are learning more and doing more everyday!

Happy Birthday!
Today was your second birthday. We went to the park with Grammy this morning and then met daddy at chick-fil-a for lunch. You played some there and then went home to nap. Our neighbors, the Wetherington's, came by and gave you a birthday gift. I had cooked cupcakes last night and iced them and you helped me put the sprinkles on them. They were in a jar that you shake and you kept shaking it out and touching the cupcakes with it. We had chocolate icing everywhere! At dinner, we put two candles in the middle of the cupcake and you blew them out. You kept saying "more" wanting us to light them again. Then you just smashed the cupcake up and played with it. I think you had a pretty good birthday!

Missed Daddy
Daddy was gone all week last week on a business trip, so nana came and stayed with us. You have gotten so attached to daddy, I was really worried how you would take it. The first few days you yelled "dada" a lot. Then you got a little better. I think Nana took your mind off of it. Daddy got back late Friday night, so you didn't see him until Saturday morning. He went in your room to get you and he said you got really shy and started burying your head and smiling. Then you got all excited.
You spent the whole day with daddy. He took you to the heritage trail at the river and y'all rode bikes and played on the playground. Then he took you to Chick-fil-a for lunch and played some more. I am so glad you are getting so close to him!

Sticking food in your ears
You are at Nana's for a few days and Granny went to. Mama said y'all were sitting there eating lunch and you started sticking french fries in your ears. She said you wouldn't stop so she finally had to pop your hand. She said you just looked at her and stuck your bottom lip out like you might cry, but didn't. I think she felt worse about it than you did!

Scratch!
When I rock you at night before you go to bed, we talk and cut up some. Right before you start to wind down, you say Scratch and I scratch your back. You love it!

Monkey Joes
We took you to Monkey Joes yesterday. It is an indoor playground with inflatable slides and obstacle courses. At first you didn't want to get on anything. You clung to us. Well, daddy decided to get in with you and you warmed up. And boy, you warmed up! You had the best time! The only trouble was you couldn't climb to the top of the slides so daddy had to carry you up them. Some of them were really high. Daddy finally told you to hold on and you would get on his back and wrap your arms around his neck and he would take you up. Daddy was pouring sweat when you got done. This morning he could barely move he was so sore. But you had such a fantastic time it was worth it. You just ran around in circles and kept squeeling. Daddy said that everytime you would get to the top of the slide you would hug him and give him a kiss.

Your Lawnmower
Daddy almost ran over your lawnmower last night on his way to the grocery store. He said the whole way there he kept thinking how if he ran over it he would be headed straight to Walmart to get you a new one. That is your favorite toy! I got it for $2 at a consignment place in North Georgia. It's so funny how the cheapest thing has been the biggest hit. It is the first thing you run to when you go outside and we even have to take it with us when we go places.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Yesterday we went to granny's and papa's for the day. You played with granny most of the day outside. She had several buckets and she filled them with water and that occupied you for a while. We came home and ate dinner then went to the park again to play some more. We stayed there until 8:15 and then you and daddy played in the yard some more.
Today is Saturday so me, you, and daddy went to Lane's Packing House. They have a playground and you played there a while. It started getting hot and we didn't have any sunscreen, so we couldn't stay really long. On our way home, you saw the park and you started saying park over and over so we stopped there, yet again! You played a while then we went to Chick fil a to eat, which meant more play time. Needless to say, I think you've played all day, but you've enjoyed it!

Morning Trip
Daddy's parents decided they wanted to take you somewhere this morning. When they got here you were a little unsure, but you went right with them. They took you out to eat breakfast and then over to see your aunt and cousins. Aunt Amanda and Uncle David are grammy's sister and brother in law. You played with two of their daughters, Abigail and Anna. They are about 9 and 10. Grammy said that Anna walked around the outside with you and you opened and shut every door you could. When you got back you were really tired and ate a lot, so I think you had a good time.

Most Definitely the Terrible Twos
Well, you have been AWFUL all day. I took you down to granny's and papa's for church today and nana was there. You weren't so bad down there, but when we got home you were a nightmare. Daddy's parents came over to see you and you were terrible. We were outside when they got here, but it was so hot, we decided to come in. I tried to give you a popsicle but it wasn't the kind you wanted, so you threw yourself down on the floor crying. I finally talked you into eating it. Then we went to the living room and you kept throwing things and hitting people. You hit me in the chest so hard I could have killed you. Then before they left, you hit grammy in the face with both hands. She kind of yelled and I yelled at you and I think it hurt your feelings.
When you were at nana's last week, she would put you in the pack and play when you were misbehaving. She said it really seemed to work, so I'm going to try it tomorrow. I've been popping you, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good, so we're going to try time outs.

Back Home
Nana brought you back home this afternoon. You were so excited to see us. You kept hugging us. Then you wanted daddy to cut the grass so you could help him. You cut the front yard with him.

Singing and Playing
This morning I called nana to see how you were doing. She said you were sitting at the piano playing and then she heard you singing E-I-E-I-O, from Old McDonald. She said she walked in there and you quit, but you wanted her to sit down with you. She sat there a while and then walked out again and you started singing it again. How cute!

At Nana's Again
I took you to nana's yesterday. You were still feeling a little sick so you and nana took a nap for 3 hours. You did not get up until 5:15. So, needless to say, you did not go to sleep until 10:00 last night. Nana said she was going to get you back on track before she brings you home.

Sick Boy
Yesterday I noticed that you felt a little warm, but you acted fine all day. But last night daddy thought you felt a little warm and took your temperature. It was 102.7! I felt terrible. We gave you some Motrin and put you to bed. I couldn't sleep most of the night. I got up and checked on you constantly. You felt warm most of the night and in the morning your temperature was 101.3 first thing. We took you to the doctor and she said you had inflamed tonsils, but she didn't see any reason to give you any antibiotics. You seemed fine all day as long as you had Motrin in you.

Second Day Potty Training
You are the most strong willed little boy I think I know. You will not use the potty on your own for anything. This morning and sat there and tried to get you to use the potty and you wouldn't, but as soon as I put a pair of underwear on you, you wet them. You wet three pair of underwear and shorts in 30 minutes. Later, I could tell you were stinkying, so I stuck you on there and you stinkied on the potty, so we made some progress.
You don't seem to be getting it, but I know you are because now you are saying "potty" as your going in your pants. Our house is so unhygenic right now because you have tee-teed and stinkied everywhere!

First attempt at Potty Training
I decided that today would be the day for you to wear big boy underwear. I got you Sesame Street underwear that are so cute. This morning you did pretty good. I bribed you to use the potty with a popsicle and you did. Later I knew you needed to go again, but you would not use the potty. I tried for 15 minutes and gave up. As soon as I walked off, you walked over to the couch and peed all over the floor. I was a little outdone, but knew that you were learning. I figured you had emptied your bladder, so we went to the park. Just as soon as you got up on the jungle gym, you peed everywhere again. Luckily I had brought extra clothes, so we changed in the car and put a diaper on.

Terrible Twos
You're not quite two yet, but I think you've hit the terrible twos. You have gotten so destructive. You break things, hit things, throw things... it's terrible! My house is absolutely destroyed at any given time. On top of it all, you've gotten very whiny. You cling to me all the time and whine when you don't get your way. This morning I was trying to get ready for church and you were handing on the leg of my shorts as I was walking.

Back from Nana's
Nana brought you back home yesterday and you got here a few hours before we did. She said you came in the house and called out "mama" a few times thinking I was here. When we came home, you met us outside. You came running to us and daddy picked you up. You wanted to hug both of us at one time. You kissed me constantly! You were so happy to see us. I know you enjoyed your time with nana, but I think you were ready to see us.

Time with Nana
You have been enjoying your self at nana's. She told me this morning that her house is destroyed. I called a few minutes ago and "dade" answered the phone. He said you were in his car playing around. He said he wasn't really paying attention and you had pulled a roll of stamps out of his dashboard and taken about $4 worth of stamps and torn them off. I guess he should be paying better attention to you.
Nana said this morning you kept wanting to take your diaper off, so she let you run around without it on. She said you started peeing in the middle of the floor, so she put a bucket in front of you. She said the rest of the day you wanted to pee in the bucket.

Vacation at Nana's
Daddy and I are going on vacation to Boston this weekend, and you are going to nana's. I kept telling you that you were going to nana's and you got so excited. The whole way up there you kept saying nana every once in a while. It was like you were trying to remind your self that the trip in the car was worth it becuase you would get to see nana.

Picking Peas
Yesterday was Memorial Day, so we went down to Granny's and Papa's to eat lunch with them. Some people they knew came over to pick peas and daddy took you down into the field. He said you helped them pick peas. He said you would take peas, but mostly leaves and throw them in their bucket.

Weekend with Daddy
My aunt died this week, so I had to go to the service in Atlanta on Saturday. You stayed home all weekend with daddy. I was a little apprehensive as to how well you both would do, but you did so well, I stayed two nights. I called you periodically through the weekend, and you both seemed okay. When I came home you only had one bruise on your forehead and you looked like you had been fed well. I would say daddy did a good job!

Vowels
I have been trying to get you to learn your vowels this week. I will say "A" and you will repeat it, and then I say "E", and you say "mama" in this exagerated way. You do the same thing after "O". But before bed tonight I would say "A", then you would say "E" and the same with "O" and "U". It's so cute! I am going to keep working with you to see if you can say them.

Reading books already
Last night we put you to bed a little late. It was about 8:45. At 9:30 we heard you a little so I turned on the video monitor and you were laying in your crib with a book in your hand. You were laying flat on your back holding the book up in the air flipping through the pages. Daddy went in there and traded the book for you elmo doll and he said you went right to sleep. You were obviously pretty tired after all that reading!

Last day of Mother's Morning Out
Today was your last day of Mother's Morning Out. I am so sad because you love it. But next year you will start 2-K which is officially preschool.

Mother's Day
Today was Mother's Day. You made me a framed poem at school with your handprints on it. I loved it! You stayed home with nana this morning while daddy and I went to church. Then we all piled in daddy's truck and went to granny's. You were so funny and loved the attention. You had your parents, a set of grandparents, and a set of great grandparents all looking at you and laughing at you. You cut up the whole time. After that, we drove to grandma's house and ate dinner with daddy's grandma and parents. You cut up there too. You kept talking gibberish and laughing at yourself. You love to get attention!

Pool Time
Yesterday I had told you we would go to the park this morning, but it was foggy and misty this morning, so we opted for Chickfila. You played for a while and we ran some errands, then came home. You were quickly bored at home so we decided to get in the pool. It was so cold, but you didn't seem to mind. You kept getting in and out which made the pool super dirty and made me super crazy, but you loved it. We stayed out there about 30 minutes and it started raining so we came in. Then when we came in you started saying bubbles which means you want a bath. I figured you were probably cold so I gave in and you got a bath as well. You loved the pool!

You love your mama
After dinner tonight you and daddy went to do some Mother's Day shopping. I decided to stay home and let you go by yourselves. Well, you started walking out the door and you grabbed my hand and said go. I told you I wasn't going that you were going with daddy and you started crying. You kept crying and daddy tried to put you in the car, but you kept reaching for me. I finally had to go inside so daddy could get you in the car. He said you said mama the whole way to the store. You usually love to go with daddy, but you wanted your mama tonight!
Elmo all the time
It's safe to say you love elmo. You have started calling him elmo instead of "melmo", and you can't get enough. We tivo sesame street at 5:00 in the morning and as soon as you get up you want to watch it. You and daddy usually sit down and watch it while I get ready. Then all day you want to watch it. You will only watch the elmo's world at the end of sesame street which is only about 20 minutes long. We watch it at least 5 times per day.

Wide Open
Lately, you have been Wide Open! You have been sleeping later in the mornings and taking longer naps, so I guess you are just really rested. But you have not slowed down. You are constantly moving and getting into something. When I picked you up from MMO today, your teacher said you were wide open all day and you had been really silly. I grabbed your hand to walk out and you didn't want to go. Finally, you gave in and started walking. But as soon as we got to the parking lot, you put on brakes and I had to pick you up. I'm so glad you enjoy it, and I hate that you only have two more days left. I hop you enjoy it this much next year!

Brayden has a Girlfriend
When I picked you up from school the other day, this little girl was chasing you around the room. You were running from her but you really didn't like it. When you finally saw me, you acted like you had been caught doing something wrong and ran toward me like you were embarrassed. Well, today when I picked you up you were the only one left. Mrs. Maria said that the little girl had been chasing you again all day today and you kept running from her telling her no and swatting at her. She said she gives really big hugs and kisses and you don't like it.
When I got there today Mrs. Maria had you up and the window looking out. Well, you didn't want to leave with me. I couldn't get you to get down and come to me. I finally walked off and told you I was leaving and you came running. I love it! I'm so glad you enjoy it and have a good time!

Potty Training
This morning I had to go to the bathroom and you came with me. I tried to get you to use the potty, but you wouldn't sit down on it. I took your diaper off and you kept looking at it, then you started tee-teeing all over the bathroom rug. I pointed you in the right direction and you tee-teed all in your potty. It was a lot! You were so proud of yourself. About 2 hours later, I went in there again, and you knew exactly what to do. You still wouldn't sit down, but you grunted and grunted trying to go. Finally you started and you did it a lot. You haven't wet your diaper in three hours! You are taking a nap right now, so I'm sure you will wet it then, but we are making progress!

Off to Nana's
We are and nana's and grandad's house this weekend. You are having the best time. You and grandad have walked up and down the steps a million times! You have been calling him "dade" all weekend. It's really cute. Nana got you a kiddy water sprinkler. You would have nothing to do with it. You kept shaking your head no and running away from it. Then "dade" took you to the car to play for a long time. I think you are having the time of your life.

Nana's Hiding
Before school this morning, I was asking you questions like "are you going to school today" and "are you going to play hard" and you were answering no to everything. Well, then I asked you if we were going to nana's tomorrow. You shot up and started shaking your head yes. Then you ran around the house yelling "Nana", "Nana", like you thought she was here. I felt so bad. I kept telling you that she wasn't here and we were going to her house tomorrow. I tried to get your mind on something else because i felt so bad.
Tonight before bed daddy slammed your hand in the refrigerator. I've actually done it recently too. You started crying so hard and ran to me. You wouldn't even look at daddy. He tried to come up behind me to talk to you and you pushed his head back. You kept crying and crying, but you would stop to do something else for a minute, then cry some more. You were really milking it!

Potty
You tee-teed in your potty for the first time tonight. When daddy started to bathe you he tried to get you to stand in front of your little potty and tee-tee. You were standing there grunting so hard that you turned red. We thought you were going to stinky! But you tee-teed and little and we laughed at you and told you how funny it was and then you did it again. Then you had enough and wanted to get in the bath tub. But we're making progress!
When I was putting you to bed tonight you pooted and looked at me and said "boop". I think you are figuring out all of your bodily functions.

Pictures

We went and had our pictures taken today. You were crying so bad when we left, so I was afraid you wouldn't do well. But of course, you were as photogenic as ever.
After dinner, we went to the park and Mrs. Maria saw us. She and her daughter Bailey stopped and you played with Bailey for a while. Daddy rode you on his bike there, but he couldn't take you on the way home. He was too tired!

Blue Cupcakes and Paint
When I picked you up this morning from Mother's Morning Out, she said your class had painted butterflies. Then she said, "except your son, he painted himself". Apparently, you decided that your body was the canvas. You had it on your shirt and face. Then she said you had eaten a blue cupcake and it stained your hands. They were blue! This afternoon we were sitting outside and I thought I smelled a dirty diaper. I pulled your diaper back to look in, and it was blue. I took you inside and it looked like blue frosting in your diaper. It even stained your rear.

Easter Sunday

Today was your second Easter. We went to church at granny and papa's church and nana and grandad went with us. Of course, you had to go to the nursery. Nana was playing the piano and you started yelling "nana" across the church. Then you started yelling "dade", which is what you've been calling grandad all weekend. After church, we went to granny's house and ate lunch, then we did an Easter egg hunt. Granny had planted some rye grass in the field to hide the eggs in. Unfortunately, it was more field than grass. You were still cute and we had a good time.

Saturday Fun
Nana and I went shopping today, so you stayed with daddy and grandad. You went to Chickfila and played and then came home and took a nap. Daddy went to play golf, so grandad was here when you woke up. Afterwards, we went to Subway and went to the park and played. You were so ill though, because you woke up early this morning. We put you to bed right at 8:00 and you went down with no problem.

Finally Home
Well, you finally came home. You've been home a few days, but I have been working and you have stayed with nana at home. Grandad came down last night, and they took you to granny's today. You are going to spend the night down there and come home tomorrow. I am feeling horribly guilty because of how much I'm working, but it's only another week. You got up super early this morning and we played for a while before anyone else got up.

Still at Nana's
You are still at Nana's house and we are ready for you to come home. It's not the same without you running around, getting into everything. Nana said this morning that you have been waking her up whispering "nana" to her. She also said y'all ran errands yesterday with Roscoe in the car and she would tell Roscoe to stay while y'all got out of the car. Well, this morning y'all were on the bed and she said you got off and told her to stay. Too cute!

Church
You are up at nana's this weekend, and she took you to her church this morning. It's a small church that doesn't have a nursery. She said when y'all walked in you got really shy and wouldn't talk to anyone. She said you just put her head down and wouldn't look at them. But as soon as the service started you started yelling "GO!". She said you kept yelling it and grandad finally took you out. Nana had to sing, so after she sang she took you to the nursery to play.

Terrible Two's??
I think you are hitting the terrible two's a little early. We didn't have anything to do yesterday morning, so I decided we'd go shopping. We went to Belk's first and you were pretty good for about 10 minutes. Then you melted down. You wanted to get out of the stoller, so I thought I'd try it. But you wouldn't walk with me. You kept wanting to go in the other direction. Then when I picked you up, you threw yourself down on the ground and started screaming. Everyone was looking at us. I was so embarrassed and embarrassed for you. You are such a cute, sweet little boy, and it embarrasses me for you when you act like that. We finally had to leave.
I cried the whole way home because I was so mad at you, and mad at myself. It's gotten to where I can't take you to the mall because you are so bad. I should have taken you into the bathroom and spanked you, and I was so mad at myself that I didn't. I am not doing you or me any favors by letting you get away with that. It is my job to correct you and show you how to act and I feel like I let you down.

Nana's Visit
Nana came to visit this weekend and you spent all day with her yesterday. Me and daddy went to work and then we went out for a date, so you had nana to yourself all day. It was raining like crazy, so you could not go outside much. She said she took you on the front porch and daddy had left a cooler out there with some powerades in it. Nana said you would take the powerades out and put them back in. Then you went and played in the rain.
Today we went to church and after nana left, we helped daddy cut the grass. You definitely helped.

So Selfish
Tracy and Cole came today to hang out with us and once again, we decided to go to Chick-fil-A. We couldn't stay long because there were a lot of kids there and you were getting run over. When we got home, you and Cole played a little in the house. You were so selfish. Everything you had Cole wanted and you wouldn't let him play with anything. At first, I didn't think a whole lot of it because you had it first. But then you started snatching everything out of Cole's hand and saying "mine". I tried to get you to share, but you would just melt down. I have never seen you act like that before.

Acting Shy
I had to work yesterday and today, so granny came up here to keep you and spent the night. Me and daddy got up with you this morning and granny was still asleep. When she got up she came out of the hallway and you saw her and stopped dead in your tracks. You started smiling kind of shy like and looked down. You were standing next to a fake plant and you started rubbing the plant and kind of looking up at her and being shy. Then you smiled at her and smelled the plant and ran off toward daddy. I think you were just surprised to see her and didn't know what to think. She went back into her room and you went to find her a few minutes later. You have gotten to where you get kind of shy and look down when you smile. It's so cute!

Ms. Maria's House
Ms. Maria, your Mother morning out teacher lives right behind us. She called us tonight and asked us to come over the see her baby chickens. We jumped the fence and went to her house. She had two baby chicks and three dogs. When we got there you didn't act like you knew her. You were really shy and clingy. But there was a lot of commotion so I think you were just unsure of the whole thing. You wouldn't have anything to do with the chicks, but you kept going outside to look at the dogs. After a while you warmed up and started going through her cabinets and drawers. You made yourself right at home then. You even found some granola bars and we gave you one. You then pulled her onto the floor and sat in her lap which is what she said you do at school all the time. We finally had to leave, but you really acted like you didn't want to. You had such a good time!

Balloon Glow
We went to the balloon glow last night. We got there about 6:30 and the place was packed. We sat next to some of daddy's friends and you did really well. You were fascinated by the balloons at first, but then you got a little rambunctious, so we got up and walked around. We came back and sat down and we put you on your monkey leash. You actually didn't mind it. We had to leave before everything got really good because we were afraid traffic would be so bad. We will definitely take you back next year!

Stinky Pants
This morning we were getting ready and you walked in the bathroom with us. You kind of put your foot up and tiptoes like you were hiking your leg and we knew you were taking a stinky. Then when you walked off, you walked with your legs sort of spread apart like you had something in your pants (which I guess you did). You walked like that until daddy went and changed you. We laughed and laughed about it. I guess it really is time to start the potty training.

School Pictures
You had school pictures today. They said you went first and acted really shy. You would smile and turn your head and bury it into your shoulder. They tried to get several shots, then they decided to move on to everyone else. They tried you again and thought they got a good shot.

Flipping in the chair
Today was the first day you have really felt well in a while and it was raining outside again. So this morning we went to Chick-fil-a to get breakfast so you could play. You played a while then we went to Walmart.
Well, tonight after daddy had given you a bath we were in your room. You climbed up in the rocking chair in your room and daddy was commenting on what a big boy you were sitting in it. Well, I told daddy that you had come close to flipping it over a few times, but he walked out of the room anyway. I had my back turned to you because I was trying to fix your curtains. Well, all of a sudden a looked down and the rocking chair was on it's back beside my feet with you still in it. You flipped it over and it didn't even make a sound. You were standing up in it facing the back which is really padded, so when it fell it didn't make any noise and you fell with it. It didn't hurt you because of all the padding. You starting crying after a second because I think it scared you. I picked you up and you looked at me and smiled, so I'm a little afraid you thought it was fun and may try it again. No more sitting in the rocking chair for you!

Day with Daddy
I had to go to work today, so daddy kept you today. Y'all went to Sam's and then Wendy's. Daddy said when he tried to get you to take a nap, you kept saying mama over and over. He kept telling you that I would be home later. It kind of broke my heart. But you took a good nap and I was there when you got up!

Meeting Murphy
The other day our neighbors, the Wetherington's, brought their new dog Murphy over to visit. He is much more your size than Jack is and you really liked him. You kept petting him and following him around. Daddy finally gave you Murphy's leash and you walked him around the yard. I think y'all will be good friends.
Sick
When nana came down this past weekend, she had a little bit of a cold. Well, you got it! You have had a snotty nose for the past couple of days, but today you can tell you feel bad. You feel like you have a little fever too. You have been sort of cranky today so I gave you some juice bout 11:00. We sat down on the couch together and watched a little sesame street. I noticed that you were really quiet and I felt you head falling on my arm. You were asleep! You never fall asleep like that.
You slept like that for about 30 minutes, then daddy called and woke you up. I got up thinking you would want to eat lunch, but you just kept laying on me. So, I put you to bed. You went right back to sleep and have been asleep for a while. You usually do not nap until 1:30. I'm going to give you some motrin when you get up and hope that helps some.

Time with Nana and Grandad
Daddy has been gone all weekend, so nana and grandad came and stayed with us. You enjoyed every minute. I must say you are particularly happy with grandad. I think it is because he lets you do whatever you want. He is so easy going and layed back, he doesn't care what you do. He would walk out of the house to go to the car and you got so upset. It broke your heart. You wanted him all weekend over everybody else. It's funny because you probably see him less than anyone else. You started calling him dada toward the end of the weekend.
The only trouble with them being here is that you don't sleep. You did not go to bed until after 9:00 every night, and you were up at 5:30 both mornings! I was a little outdone with you. Grandad stayed up with you the first morning and I went back to sleep for a few minutes. I wish they lived closer becuase you really enjoy being with them.

Ready to go to school
This morning I asked you if you were ready to go to school. You looked at your bookbag that I was holding and smiled and ran to the door. When I opened the door, you ran to the car and tried to get in the front seat. I thought you were just trying to get in the car to play, but when I opened the back door, you jumped in and got in your car seat. You were ready to go to school!

Snow Day
We had heard all weekend that it might snow. We went to church this morning and it was cold and rainy. We noticed it snowing a little while we were in Sunday School, then more in church. By the time we got out of church, it seemed to have turned back to rain. While we were eating lunch, you looked out the window and saw snow for the first time. You pointed and it and said "huh". We finally turned your chair around so you could stare at it while you ate. After you finished eating, we took you outside. You cried and cried because you were tired, so we took you in and you took a nap.
Two hours into your nap, I looked outside and it was really snowing and sticking! I was talking to granny and she told me I better wake you up so you can play in it because we were afraid you would miss it. Well, that was a mistake! You were so ill. We took you outside and you wouldn't let us sit you down. You were crying, pointing at the door wanting to come back in. I was so disappointed! After you woke up we took you out again. You ran around this time and threw some snow balls with daddy. You went to push your lawn mower and as soon as you touched it you took your hands off and said something. But after a few minutes you wanted to go in again. I think you had fun that time, but it was too cold and nasty.

Shopping with Daddy
I had to work again today, so you and daddy did your usual Saturday thing. You went shopping a little, then went to Chick-fil-A to play. Daddy needs some new shorts, so he took you to Academy Sports with him. He said he was in the dressing room standing in his underwear and you started to climb out under the door. He didn't know what to do, so he stepped on you. He said that was the only way he could hold you under the door. He quickly got his pants on and you took off. He said he was doing his pants up on the way out of the dressing room chasing you. To calm you down he tried to give you a juice cup which you proceded to pull the top of off, leaving both of you covered in apple juice. Lukily there was a change of clothes for you in the car. So daddy changed your clothes in the back of the car, while it was raining. He said you were both mad at each other for a little while.
It was all better because tonight you got to run around in the mud puddles in our yard. You ran around and had the best time.

A day at granny's
We didn't have anything to do today, so we decided to go to granny's and papa's. We stopped at the church and helped granny clean the church and then went to their house. As soon as you saw papa you started yelling "papoo". You walked around with him outside, went with him to his shop, and then we went in. Later, we went back out to his shop and you stood outside saying "papoo" a hundred times. It was so cute! We had a really good day and I think you enjoyed yourself.
Tonight, we decided to go to target. You love target's popcorn, so we got you some. On the way home you turned it over in your carseat and started eating eat. You were in hog heaven!

Enough Sleep Helps
You are a different child when you get enough sleep. You slept great last night and this morning you woke up in a great mood. Daddy could hear you talking this morning and you never cried. He said you were going through and reciting out loud all the words you know how to say. You were perfect all morning. I really didn't want to take you to Mother's Morning Out, but I had to work. This afternoon you took a good nap and you were a pleasure to be with this afternoon. I don't know how to make you sleep enough every day, but you are so much better when you do!

New Words
You have really started talking lately. You have your usual words like mama and dada, but you have added some. You can say diaper and apple and banana. Apple comes out "bapple" and banana is "nana". The last couple of days you've been saying more, which sounds like "mwou" and cheese which is simply "eeze". You've been saying thank you, and now you're saying elmo which comes out "melmo".
We try to say the words correctly to you so you will eventually say them correctly, but sometimes it's so stinking cute we mock you. Everyday you surprise us with a new word.

Much Better Day Today
We had a much better day today. We pretty much stayed around the house and had a good time. You helped me with some housework, or got in my way depending on how you look at it. But we had fun!
We only had one meltdown today. You have been telling us when you need a diaper change which is a sign that you're getting ready to potty train. So we've been getting you to sit on your potty. You liked it at first, but lately you've gotten a little shy about it. Well today, I brought the potty into the living room and took your diaper off. You would sit on it and then stand in the corner. I kept thinking you were going to tee-tee in the corner but you didn't. So I thought you might would like to try a pull up. Well, boy was a wrong. You got so upset! You would not let me get anywhere near you with the pull up. I thought maybe you just liked the freedom of walking around without a diaper on, but when I tried to put a diaper on you, you let me. I'm going to get you a new potty tomorrow, hopefully you will like it a little better.

A day at home
I was not feeling well today, so we decided to stay home from church. I think we all needed a break. Daddy went outside to cut the grass and we went with him. You walked right behind him with your little plastic lawn mower. It was really cute!
Later, daddy had to go somewhere, so we went outside by ourselves. We just put up a fence between our yard and our neighbors yard, but it isn't all the way to the road. And you kept wanting to go in their yard. I finally had to bring you inside.
All day you were really whiny and cantankerous. You would throw yourself down and pitch the biggest fits. Needless to say, my headache got worse. I hope we have a better day tomorrow!

Book Sale
We went to the Friend's of the Library book sale today. We were there about an hour and a half and you did pretty well. The first hour you stayed in your stroller and looked around. Toward the end, you started acting up a little. We got some good books that we read tonight before bed.

Daddy's Back
Daddy came back today. I was at work when he got home. He said he walked in and you were a little shy. And he said, "give me a big hug", and you ran to him so hard and gave him the biggest hug. We went to Chickfila to play and you wouldn't let daddy leave your sight. Everytime he would walk off you would yell for him.
We went to Chick-fil-a afterward and daddy walked off to get something. You starting crying and yelling "dada" so loud. You kept yelling it over and over and he said he heard it all across the store. I think you were a little happy to see him!

Throwing up is no fun
Daddy is still out of town and I went to work today, so granny kept you. You have been pulling at your ear the last couple of days, but she said you seemed fine today. We decided we would go to chick-fil-a tonight so you could play, but we didn't make it all the way there. You were a little cranky when I got home and seemed awfully tired. On the way there, you threw up all over yourself. Three Times! It was everywhere, and it stunk SOOOO bad! We turned around and came home. I took your clothes off of you and rocked you for a few minutes because you were so upset. Then you fell asleep. Brayden, you never fall asleep that easily. You were obviously very tired. I only let you sleep about 20 minutes, and when you got up you were in a great mood. You even ate a pretty good dinner. I was a little worried you wouldn't want to go to sleep at bedtime, but you went right to sleep. I had thought about taking you to the doctor tomorrow, but you seemed like you were feeling pretty well tonight. I'll see how you seem tomorrow morning.

Where's Daddy?
Daddy had to leave this morning and go to a training in Atlanta for a few days. He left before you got up. When I went to get you this morning, you said "mama" then "dada". Then you grabbed your diaper and said "dipa". I felt you and you were soaked. You were telling me you needed it changed. You have done this a few other times before. I changed you and we went and laid down in my bed while you drank some milk. When you got up you yelled "dada" really loud. Then you got off the bed and ran around the house yelling "dada". I called daddy and told him and it broke his heart.
Granny came up here to stay with us while daddy is gone. We went outside and played tonight and you made her get in your playhouse. Then you wouldn't let her out. We went and got ice cream of course and played a little more.

Back Home
We went and met nana and granddad half way this afternoon to get you. They said that you cried when they were leaving their house. She said you saw your bags by the car and cried wanting to go back in. You were happy to see us though! You started smiling and gave us both the biggest hugs. When you got home you ran around like a mad man for a while. You chased Missie around in your tunnel and screamed a lot. I think you were happy to be home!

Time at Nana's
I took you to Nana's on Thursday. We left right after Mother's morning out and you slept about an hour. We stopped by Granny Ray's and you played in her backyard some. When we got to Nana's I had a little shopping to do, so you and Nana played at the park. You were so ready for bed that night, but you wouldn't go to sleep in the pack and play, so Nana went to bed with you at 9:00. I don't think she minded!
The next morning, I got up and left. I always have a hard time leaving you somewhere. Daddy and I enjoy our free time when you are away, but it is so hard knowing you will not be here. We have gotten a lot done around the house but it's just not the same without you. It sounds like you are having fun at Nana's. Granddad said you have gone up and down the steps in their house a million times! Last night when I called you were feeding your hamburger to Roscoe.
I think you have a good time there, but I would like to think you miss us a little!

Most Embarrassing
We decided to go out to eat tonight. We went to the Whistle Stop Cafe right down the road from our house. We were a little hesitant, because it's not exactly kid friendly. It is an open restaurant with very little seating. The ceilings are really high and there is no carpet or anything to absorb noise. There is no music playing and every little sound just bounces off the walls and echoes. Well, you were in rare form. At first you were really good, so daddy decided he would just let you sit in his lap while we waited for our food. Well, when we tried to put you in your high chair you went crazy. You started crying and screaming and it just echoed! Luckily, there were only a few other people in there. We finally got you in the high chair, but you wouldn't eat. You threw your food down, and the silverware hit the floor with a very loud ting. You've started screaming in this horribly high pitch scream and you kept doing that. It was so loud!
Needless to say, I could have crawled under the table. I was so embarrassed. It is probably the first time I can remember being that embarrassed. I finally got up and walked around with you while daddy finished eating. You were so cute though. You were talking to people just like you hadn't made their entire meal miserable. We will not be taking you anywhere except Chick-fil-a and Subway from now on.

Growing up so fast
I took you to Mother's Morning Out this morning. I was standing there talking to Mrs. Maria and you acted like you may get a little clingy. She held her arms out and said "let's go to the window", and you held your arms up for her to pick you up. She picked you up and just held you while we kept talking. You didn't care at all that I was going to leave you. It makes me feel so good when you don't get upset when I leave. When I picked you up, she said you learned how to say Kenzie today, which is short for Mackenzie, a girl in your class. She said you kept patting Mackenzie's head, and saying Kenzie over and over. As soon as we walked out the door, you said "Eat", and you said it the whole way to Subway. I guess you were a little hungry.
After daddy got home today, he took you outside. The two little boys, Gabe and Luke, who stay with their grandmother a few houses down were outside. You chased them, and played with them. They would throw the ball and you would pick it up and throw it. You are really starting to interact with other kids. They are 4 and 6 and they played really well with you. You were having the best time, but we had to go in and eat. It is so much fun watching you grow up!

A good day
You were in the best mood this morning. You slept until 7:15 and you were all smiles when you got up. We had to go do a little shopping. I spent $70 and every penny of it was on you! I bought you some bubbles and when we got home we played with them. You chased them forever, but kept wanting to try to do it yourself. You could not do it, but you kept trying.
Later we were sitting in the living room playing and you kept pooting. I would laugh at you then you would cover your mouth and laugh. You did it about 5 times before I figured out you were trying to do it because I was laughing at you. Probably not the best thing to be teaching you!

Weekend Fun
This weekend has been great! I had to work yesterday, so you spent the day with Daddy. He took you to do a little shopping, then to chick-fil-a to eat lunch and play. After your nap, I came home from work and we just stayed around the house. Daddy cut the grass and you helped him with your lawn mower. Then he took you on a bike ride. You haven't been in months, but you really enjoyed it. Six months ago, you really didn't like it, but you loved it this time. When you were in the bicycle seat though, you could really tell how much you have grown. Your helmet fit better and you could sit up in the seat without sliding down. Daddy said everytime he would hit a bump you would laugh.
Here are pictures of you at 10 months on the back of daddy's bike and now at 18 months. You are growing up so fast!

We went to church today. You cried a little when we first dropped you off at the nursery, but you stopped quickly. You were a little tired this morning. This afternoon, daddy took you on another bike ride. He has gained a little weight, so he said he is having trouble riding you as far now. Maybe you can help him drop a few pounds by riding with him more often! You were not on daddy's good side tonight because you kept climbing into the kitchen chairs. He couldn't get you to stop, and I just stood back and let him handle it. But as I'm typing this post, he is in your room trying to rock you to sleep, so I think he's okay now!

Afternoon in the Park
It was a really cold day again today. We had to stay in the house all morning, but after your nap this afternoon we went to the park. You had a great time playing and watching all the other kids. After daddy got off work, we came home and ate dinner. We played outside a little, then went to get ice cream at McDonalds. We usually get it and eat it in the car, you always eat the bottom out of the cone. It makes such a mess, but you love it!

A Day with Granny
Today was my work day, so granny came to keep you. We went and stood at the window to watch daddy leave and granny started coming down the road. As soon as you saw her car, you said "Papoo". I think you call granny, papa as well. You went to the door and tried to let her in, but you haven't figured out how to turn the doorknob yet.
It was only 37 degrees this afternoon, so you had to stay inside most of the day. So, when daddy and I got home, we took you to Chick-fil-A to eat and play in the indoor playground. Proud Parents
Today was a mother's morning out day. You have gotten to where you do not cry or anything when I drop you off. You act like you really enjoy it. This morning daddy picked up his keys and asked you if you wanted to go outside with him, and you grabbed your bookbag and walked to the door. It was so cute because you seemed so excited to go.
When daddy and I picked you up this afternoon, one of your teachers, Mrs. Anita, stopped us as soon as we walked in. She told us she wanted to thank us and give us a hug. We asked her why and she said for being such good parents. We looked at her very confused and she said that it was obvious we were good parents because of what a good kid you were. She said you help them pick up the toys when they ask, and you will do anything they want you to do. She said you do not cry or whine and you never misbehave. Today you did try to run Mackenzie over with a riding toy, but when Mrs. Anita clapped her hands and told you know, you stuck your bottom lip out and ran to Mrs. Maria crying. They knew you did not do it on purpose.
We were so proud of you today!

Outing with grandparents
This morning your grandparents, daddy's mama and daddy, took you on an outing. You went out to eat breakfast with them and went to the eye center where grammy used to work. She said you showed off and showed everyone how cute you were. You would do your usual thing and squench up your eyes when they said you were cute. You came home as ill as a hornet, but I think you were just hungry. You ate a huge lunch and then you seemed okay!

Church and Granny's
Daddy wanted to play golf today, so we decided to go to church with granny and papa. As soon as you walked into church you started saying "papoo", which is what you call papa. We sat behind papa and granny and you kept reaching over the pew and touching them. You couldn't sit through church, so we went to granny's and waited for them. You wanted to go in and out of her utility room. You would go in and shut the door and say "bye-bye".
All afternoon, you wanted "papoo's" attention. He was in the living room sleeping and you were standing in the kitchen yelling "papoo" over and over. He finally woke up and told you to come to him and you ran to him. He took you outside and walked you around, but granny couldn't stand the attention he was getting, so she had to go out there as well. You stayed outside most of the day.

Pictures
We went to take your pictures yesterday. Needless to say, you did not cooperate! Your shirt wouldn't stay tucked in, you had a bruise on your forehead, and you would not sit still. You also kept sticking your tongue out for all of the pictures. Afterward we went to Firehouse Subs. You did not eat much, but you showed off for a table of older ladies. You told them "hey" 50 times! They thought you were as cute as you did!
